At Level 3 Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), the Boat Building/Construction program equips students with practical and theoretical knowledge to construct, repair, and maintain small- to medium-sized boats using modern and traditional techniques. This program prepares students for careers in the maritime, shipbuilding, and marine transport sectors. It focuses on hands-on training in hull construction, materials handling, woodworking, fibreglass techniques, marine safety, and blueprint interpretation.

Key learning outcomes:

-   Understand marine construction materials (wood, fiberglass, aluminum, steel, composites) relay logic 

 -   Read and interpret boat design blueprints and construction plans
 -  
Build and assemble hulls, decks, bulkheads, and other marine structures
 -  Apply fiberglass lamination, resins, and gel-coat application
 -  Operate power tools and marine carpentry equipment safely
 -  Install basic electrical systems, fittings, and propulsion components
 -  Perform marine corrosion control and waterproofing
 -  Comply with local and international marine construction and safety standards

Hands-On Projects May Include: • Constructing a canoe, dinghy, or small fishing boat • Fiberglass molding of hull sections • Repairing a damaged marine hull • Applying marine-grade coatings and sealants
